Visiting Assistant Professor Gina S. Warren teaches Energy Law and Civil Procedure. She joins Duquesne after practicing at Perkins Coie, LLP, a prominent international law firm, based in Seattle, Washington. She was a litigator in practice, with an emphasis in energy law and land use. She received her J.D. from the Rutgers School of Law – Camden and her B.S. from the University of Arizona. While at Rutgers, Professor Warren served on Law Review and Moot Court and after graduation she completed a clerkship for the Honorable Michael Winkelstein of the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virgin Islands, and Washington.

Professor Warren beschreibt das Thema wie folgt:
" The United States does not have a comprehensive national climate change policy. Instead, a mishmash of federal and state legislation and judicial opinions have created an incongruent set of rules and regulations that an energy company must follow to stay clear of penalties and liability for “excessive” greenhouse gas emissions. For this lecture, we will look at recent changes to the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulation of greenhouse gas emissions from stationary sources under the Clean Air Act, as well as recent judicial decisions granting the public standing to bring public nuisance claims against energy companies who emit greenhouse gas."

Der Eintritt ist frei. Der Vortrag findet in englischer Sprache statt.
