  1. What do we do with your personal data?

a. When you use our website or our contact form

In order to provide this website we must process personal data, such as your IP address. This processing is necessary for the retrieval of content displayed on this website (including its functions) and IT security measures. The functions of our website include, among others, the integration of JavaScript via TALQUE, Google Fonts, and the Icon Font.

In general, you may visit our web pages without entering any personal data or identifying yourself. Apart from this, we collect and store in the log files of our web server only the information that your browser transmits to us. This includes your operating system, browser type/version, name of your internet service provider, time of the server request, website from which you visit us (referrer URL), and web pages that you visit on our site. This data is not merged with other data sources. After statistical analysis, all data is deleted.

You also have the option of contacting us via our contact form, in which case, we collect the personal data that you enter in the contact form.

(1) Legal basis
Your personal data is processed in providing this website and communicating with you based on our overriding legitimate interest in doing so. It is technically necessary that we process certain personal data (e.g. the IP address) in order to provide this website. We must process your respective personal data in order to communicate with you.

(2) Weighing of interests

As required, we have balanced your interest in confidentiality and our interests in providing this website and contacting you. In each case, your interest in confidentiality remains subordinate, as otherwise we would be unable to provide you with this website or respond to your contact request.

(3) Recipient categories

We use service providers to provide our website. We transmit personal data to these service providers for this purpose. These service providers are contractually obligated by us to exercise the same care in handling personal data as we do.

(4) Mandatory information

The fields marked with an asterisk (*) in our online contact form(s) are mandatory fields. This personal data is required for the use of our online contact form(s). That is, if you do not provide this personal data, you will not be able to use our online contact form(s).

b. In the event that you allow the use of cookies and analytics tools in your browser

We use cookies and analytics tools in order to provide our website.

So-called “cookies” are used on our web pages. Cookies are data records that are stored by a web server on the user’s end device (e.g. computer, smartphone, and tablet).

These cookies are sent back to our website (“first party cookie”) or another website to which the cookie belongs (“third party cookie”) when our website is called up once more by the same end device.

Through the stored and returned information (e.g., internet browser and operating system used, domain name of the website from which you came, average time spent on the site, and pages viewed) the respective website recognizes that you have already accessed and visited the website with the browser of your end device. Information is automatically collected in anonymous form when you access our website(s). This enables us to provide the user with more effective and generally better use of our web pages over time by improving the content and making it easier to use.

Cookies remain on your end device until the respective cookie is no longer required, unless you delete cookies manually. Deactivating the cookie function in your browser does not restrict the use of our web pages and the services offered.

(1) Legal basis for the use of cookies

The legal basis for using cookies is generally our overriding legitimate interest as necessary to provide the website, unless a specific legal basis is specified below.

(2) Weighing of interests for the use of cookies

Within the framework of the necessary balancing of interests, we have in each case weighed your interest in confidentiality against our interest in providing this website (including its functions). In each case, your interest confidentiality is secondary, in that otherwise we could not provide the web pages with the functions that they have.

(3) Data transfer to the USA

When using various services, personal data may be transferred to the USA.

The legal basis for the respective transfer of personal data to the USA is your consent, which you have given us in the context of our cookie consent banner (cookie banner). If you have not given us the corresponding consent, you cannot use the respective service. Please note that for technical reasons, any consent in this regard only relates to the respective end device being used

A level of data protection comparable to that in Europe does not exist in the USA. In particular, it is possible that government agencies may access personal data without you or us becoming aware thereof. Any assertion of legal rights in this case will likely not be successful.

You will find a note on data transfer to the USA with respect to the particular service on our website.

c. If you use a website that has embedded Google Maps

We use the service “Google Maps” of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”) on this website. Maps of this service are displayed on one or more sub-pages. When you call up such a sub-page, a connection is established from your end device to a Google server in the USA. Your personal data is processed in order to use Google Maps.

The legal basis for the use of Google Maps is your consent, which you have given us as part of our cookie banner. When using Google Maps, personal data may be transferred to the USA.
