DAJV 50th Anniversary

In 2025, the German-American Lawyers Association (DAJV) will celebrate its 50th anniversary – five decades of transatlantic exchange, legal expertise, and enduring friendship!
What began in 1975 with twelve young German lawyers and one American colleague in Bonn has grown into a dynamic, nonprofit network of 2,500 members, dedicated to fostering dialogue and mutual understanding between the legal systems of Germany and the United States across generations.
Our event, „DAJV 50th Anniversary – Transatlantic Legal Perspectives. Timeless Connections,“ will take place on June 26 and 27, 2025, in Berlin. On the evening of June 26, we invite early arrivals to a welcome reception at the German headquarters of CMS Hasche Sigle in Berlin. The main event on June 27 will be hosted at the Representation of the State of Hesse. Prior to the start of the conference, the DAJV General Assembly will be held.
We are honored to welcome Professor Dr. Stephan Harbarth, LL.M. (Yale), President of the German Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht), who will deliver a keynote address. Additionally, other distinguished guests from the legal profession, politics, and business will enrich our program, addressing topics such as business, security, and law in the transatlantic context, and will help us mark this milestone.
