UConn Law a part of the state of Connecticut’s flagship university offers more than 150 law courses each year allowing students to build knowledge and experience while creating global networks. With a 5:1 student to faculty ratio, UConn Law offers direct access to academic experts to help shape your academic and professional future. Additionally, UConn Law offers an array of student support including a designated LLM career counselor, LLM academic counselor, a student affairs officer and a designated international student advisor for navigating the visa process.

Students come to UConn Law to study and find a welcoming, engaging and intellectual academic community. Situated in New England, the experience also offers a wide array of access to major cities as well as mountains, beaches and small towns to explore.

Study Program

UConn Law offers five unique programs for incoming international students. Students can choose to enroll in the U.S. Legal Studies LLM program and create a customized curriculum focused on individual interests, or, students can enroll in a specialized program with a unique focus.

The specialized programs are:
Energy & Environmental Law LLM
Governance, Risk Management & Compliance LLM
Human Rights & Social Justice LLM
Insurance Law LLM

Within each of these programs students will have opportunities for theoretical and practical learning placements both on and off-campus.

Scholarships & Financial Aid

UConn Law as a state institution offers competitive tuition rates without sacrificing the rich curriculum and faculty support. In addition, you will be eligible for merit-based scholarships after completing your application. Our merit-based scholarships are awarded to applicants who demonstrate excellence through academic ability and professional experience.

We have a Dean’s Scholarship, Fulbright scholarship support, and merit-based scholarships to support credits beyond the required 24 credits.

UConn offers DAJV LL.M. Day participants a fee waiver.

Application requirements

Admission Requirements:
• Applicants are required to hold or expect to receive a degree from a recognized law faculty outside the United States before matriculating in the LLM Program or from an ABA-Approved law school
• TOEFL, IELTS, and PTE language test scores accepted
• Personal Statement
• Resume/CV
• Two Letters of recommendation
• All degree transcripts
